In response to yesterday's blog about cheering on SC, they delivered today in a romp. USC raced out to a 31-7 halftime lead and cruised to a 38-24 victory over Big Ten champion, Penn State.

Mark Sanchez had over 400 yards and 4 TD's through the air (and another on the ground) in the victory.

It's a great win for my Trojans, but I still feel that the BCS is a joke. USC lost to the #2 team in the PAC-10 on the road, and the PAC-10 is the conference that won the conference challenge by going 5-0 in their bowl games. What about USC's resume is weaker than Oklahoma's or Florida's? The SEC and Big 12 were the preseason voter's favorites for the "toughest conference," but I'm a firm believer that you don't really know how tough the conferences are until bowl season. The PAC-10 showed up, and they knocked off every opponent they faced, 3 of them against teams ranked higher than them.

It really is unfortunate that USC didn't get a chance to play for the title, but I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles. We'll just have to settle for another Rose Bowl championship over a slow Big Ten team.
