| our stories are singular...   |  Application Template When making your thread, please be sure to do a few things:
Application Template General Information Name: The section should be pretty self explanatory. Put your character's full name here. Feel free to include the meaning of the character's name (both in the etymological sense and in what it means to your character), as well as any nicknames and common names that your character has. Basically, whatever someone calls your character can go here. Age: How old your character is, in years please. Date of Birth: The month, day, and year in the Gregorian Calendar. If you are interested in astrology, this is also the place to put your character's astrological signs. Place of Birth: The location of your character's birth. Be as specific as possible. Notice that this is not "hometown." If your character was born in a backalley somewhere, we expect to hear it mentioned here. Sex: Biological sex and gender. Status: How your character is currently doing. If (s)he is a wounded straggler, be sure to put it here. If (s)he is a fat cat hegemon higher-up, be sure to put it here. Literacy: What languages and writing systems your character knows. Keep in mind that it's been a good number of years since the pandemic, and many of the younger generation would have minimal knowledge of world languages and literature. Many of them are illiterate altogether. Sexual Orientation: Which way your character swings. Inherited Powers: A list of powers from the character's genetics. Please consult the Powers Guide for more information about the subject. Acquired Powers: This is the place to list induced powers, or powers that your character somehow gained elsewhere. Physical Description Height: In imperial avoirdupois, preferably; metric is optional Weight: As above Build: lanky/portly/slim/athletic/overweight/etc Physical Appearance: An overall description of your character's appearance in paragraph form. Voice: What your character sounds like, written out in paragraph form. Things such as vocal pitch, timbre, texture, volume can go here, as well as an explanation about their accent. Personality Phobias: Explore what your character fears the most, particularly what (s)he fears irrationally, and why. Hopes and Motivations: Include short and long terms goals, and why your character wants to achieve them. Explore the motivation behind having certain goals and hopes. Likes and Dislikes: In paragraph form, describe what your character genuinely likes (or dislikes), and explore why. What does this show about their personality that they like or dislike these things? Strengths and Weaknesses: Personality attributes (meaning, not skill-based, except when skills or attributes relate towards the personality) that your character has that are either positive or negative. Feel free to explain how a given trait can be both positive and negative in certain situations. General Personality: The overall sum of your character's personality in paragraph form. Backstory Family and Connections: List your character's parents, important family member, and major connections in his or her life. Listing of ages, positions, and quick descriptions are also recommended. Quick History: A rough outline of the events that occurred in the character's lifetime. The idea here is to quickly paint the story of your character's life. Most Vivid Events: Explore in greater detail aspects of your character's memories that (s)he remembers particularly vividly. This could be experiences of any emotion, and (if done properly) could even be memories that never actually happened. Miscellaneous Pets/Familiar: If your character has a pet (and it hasn't been turned into a monster by the virus), list it here. Possessions: What items does your character have with him or her. Keep in mind that if you're playing a straggler, it's unlikely that your character would have many items. Reputation: Any information that is common knowledge about your character. If your character is a higher ranking hegemon, it's likely that most of the hegemon and gang figures in the region knows about him or her. Likewise, if your character has some details about his or her past that other people would know, then this is also the place to put it. Roleplay Central Name: Your name or alias. Age: Your age. Contact: List a contact. Please do not simply put "PM" here. Please offer a means of contact apart from this forum. Google talk is strongly preferred. RP Experience: How long you have been roleplaying for? Feel free to mention past sites. How did you find us? Other Characters: Anything Else? Any questions and concerns? Roleplay Sample Post your sample here. Please make the sample from the perspective of your character. The point of the sample isn't to take your 'best' post ever, but to see what the typical, run-of-the-mill post from your character's perspective looks like. As such, we do not allow you to post just any random sample. The sample has to be a post from the perspective of the character you are applying for. Refrain from using too much dialogue or NPCs. Feel free to use that post as a thread opener that you post after approval. As a quasi-timestamp for your application, please make your sample set in the current game time at the moment that you are applying. For example, if you applied for your character during or before its opening, the sample should take place some time in August 2027. This will allow the administrative team to know when the application was put together, and what details could potentially be outdated.
