| Golden Banner Lieutenants and Henchmen |

The Golden Banner's lieutenants are in the immediate employ of the central leadership (the heads of the five lead houses). Thus, this gives them exceptional standing within the hegemons, exceeded only by the highest ranking members of the lead houses themselves. Many of these lieutenants in turn chose to take on a few henchmen, and these henchmen assume a rank higher than that of the ordinary hegemon member. |  [Alexandre] Cosmo [Grimaldi] Kingsolver**
Age 25 | M-Quantaregency (XY) and Hyperevolution (Z)
Aristocratic, cold, and thoroughly efficient, Cosmo is one of the most illustrious members of the Golden Banner. As the adopted brother of Earnest Kingsolver, Cosmo often receives some of the most important and critical of missions, and usually conducts them with a ruthless efficiency. Cosmo is, however, known to flub some of the easier missions, possibly because he lacks initiative when he isn't challenged. Calculating, detached, and an intellectual, Cosmo knows how to manipulate the situation towards his favor. He has one of the most magnetic personalities within the hegemon, and people are drawn to him like moths to a flame. Despite this, very few people actually fundamentally or emotionally connect to Cosmo, simply because there's nothing there to connect to; Cosmo has already evolved past emotions.
Nevertheless, despite these attributes, Cosmo makes a poor leader. His advanced mental capabilities makes it difficult for him to relate to people on a regular basis. He is also exceedingly impatient with anything that remotely resembles incompetence. Even his superiors, who place so much faith in him, often recognize him as a wild card. He has the ability both to be the Ace up the sleeve, or to undermine the integrity of the entire mission. And for all of his apparent charisma, he lacks the ability to unite and motivate large groups. Cosmo is also a walking enigma. He operates coldly, with little regard towards sentimental attachments, but at the same time, is far from indiscriminate. It is possible to reason with him, and even though he does a lot of dirty work, he still clings to some unspoken code of honor and respect.

Age 24 | Poison Generation (X), Hair Manipulation (X), Superhuman Speed (Z) Bliss is older of the twins that work under Cosmo Grimaldi, and arguably the more 'normal' one. She still possesses an unhealthy amount of love and adoration for her supervisor, and her dedication towards him borders on obsession or cultlike worship. Cosmo is the only thing that can come between Bliss and her twin sister, who are completely unshakable elsewise. Bliss feels like she owes Cosmo both for his generosity when they first joined the hegemon. She is also a little intimidated of her superior, as she has seen what he can so coldly do first hand, and is slightly afraid of him. This combination of fear and worship makes her constantly strive to please Cosmo and is neurotic about avoiding annoying him. Inevitably she does annoy him, but Cosmo never seems to pay it any mind. Age 24 | Poison Generation (X), Hair Manipulation (X), Superhuman Speed (Z) Lydia is the younger and more passionately dedicated of the twins. She seems to have a deep, profoundly amorous love for her superior, and is willing to go to arguably even greater lengths than her twin to serve him. Her frenzied dedication contributes to both the twins' reputation for insanity. Outside of her fierce protection and adoration of Cosmo, Lydia can function as a fairly normal human being, but she snaps to any slight against her superior, regardless of how trivial. The other trademark of Lydia is how close she is to her twin sister. Bliss and Lydia are so closely related that no one—save Cosmo—is able to tell them apart. Even power sensors and aura absorbers have difficulty in distinguishing the two. They play up this closeness by dressing alike, finishing each other's sentences, and generally reinforcing their connection as identical twins. Like Bliss, Lydia is afraid—both out of respect for Cosmo's ability and because of her personal feelings towards him—of disappointing her commander. Suggested Model: Marthe Flatmo |  Dara Pierce*
Age 28 | Necrokinesis (XX) and Omnipresence (Z)
Ruthless, stubborn, and cold, it's a wonder how anyone can tolerate Dara at all. She genuinely doesn't like people, and will go out of her way to ignore talking to them. If she must converse with an individual, she prefers to come in armed with far more information and the higher ground. To her, there is no other form of discourse that is acceptable.
Quick to form her opinion, Dara's assessment of individuals rarely changes. Should she form a negative opinion or develop a grudge, she harbors those feelings for a very long time. Part of her understands that she is simply a prickly individual, but another—almost subconscious—aspect believes takes a 'me against the world' attitude. She approaches things with a huge chip on her shoulder, and is quick to cut other people down to size. Her words penetrate and often leave emotional scars and callouses: scars on her victims, and callouses on herself.
People put up with her sharp tongue and grisly attitude because she is effective. A tireless planner, she gets things done, and the hegemon brass can certainly appreciate someone like that.

Age 26 | Healing (X) and Motion Mimicry (X) Given her boss's prickly attitude and cold demeaner, Emma is really the only one that can stand her. She's naturally fairly submissive. However, she is hardly the goody-two-shoes follower that she would have others believe. Emma is devious, ruthlessly cunning, and frequently the one that ensures that Dara's cold plans come to fruition. She is, according to her boss, "completely invaluable." Shy and introverted, Emma usually retreats inwardly, absorbing the outside world and constructing a rich fantasy world inside her head. Her mind never stops, and even when she appears cut off from the rest of the world, she is still thinking, pondering about the world around her and what she can do to shape it to her aims. Ambitious, and of questionable morals, Emma is not above traditionally underhanded tactics. She is, however, undeniably effective at what she sets her mind to, and is surprisingly good at scheming solutions. Suggested Model: Lizzy Caplan |  Seneca Sepulveda**
Age 30 | Chi manipulation (XY) and Blessedness [war] (Z)
Though not the oldest, Seneca is certainly the wisest of the lieutenants. He has an in depth understanding, particularly of the Zen teachings. Well educated and well spoken, Seneca has an easy-going charm about him, as his absolute confidence in himself, and his complete acceptance of his position in the world, make him a natural in his skin. He does not have the same fears and desires as everyone else. He has reached a level of spiritual enlightenment that he no longer has sentimental attachment to anything in the material world—even death can hardly faze him.
Given his powers, it's no surprise that Seneca is the combat expert of the lieutenants. He conducts his tasks with utmost effectiveness, but still retains the same air of grace, elegance, and class that surrounds him outside of battle. Seneca takes pride in his prowess, but he never takes pleasure in defeating his foes. He is completely complicit in his belief of causality, and believes that things happen because they have been set in motion. He never stresses over the events of his life. Seneca has achieved a level of zen where he no longer assigns any meaning, any adjective, any barometer of good or evil for the actions that people do.

Age 35 | Magnetokinesis (XY) Ruben's notable for being above average all-around. He's alarmingly consistent, and while he doesn't do one thing exceptionally, his jack of all trades ability makes him a valuable and reliable asset to the hegemon. Seneca values him for his even keel attitude and his high skill and power with his magnetokinesis. As Seneca himself is a very even, level-headed individual, he chose Ruben because he is so consistently good, even if he is rarely outstanding. Ruben will complete the task given to him with stalwart, if unspectacular, vigil. Outside of being noteworthy for his overall prowess, Ruben is also a very friendly and charismatic figure in the hegemon. He is cheerful despite the bleak situation, and knows how to lift the mood of others. His charisma extends further, and he has a reputation for being a ladies' man. Ruben balances his social graces very well. He is confident but not arrogant, social but not obnoxious, friendly without being invasive, and memorable but not for the wrong reasons. Age 27 | Phasing (XX) Most people find Vesper an annoying fly on the wall. She has little concept of boundaries or personal space, and will often sneak around and invade on any privacy that others have. Her invasiveness is not merely nosiness either, as she is quick to divulge her own personal and intimate details. Simply, Vesper is unfettered and unrestrained about most everything; she can't keep a secret to save her life—and she wouldn't want to either. Most members of the hegemon dislike her for the stalkerish tendencies she displays. Guided by impulse, Vesper goes where she wants when she wants, and that frequently involves spying on anyone who runs through her mind. She has a whimsical nature, and simply doesn't understand why people have so many secrets to guard. Because she doesn't feel like she is doing anything wrong, Vesper gets upset when people tell her off about her behavior. Her temper is easily roused and often violent, which requires restraint by higher figures in the hegemon. However, her usefulness as a spy is difficult to understate. Age 48 | Liquefaction (XY) Calm and collected, Andris Green just seems distinct. There's something in the way he carries himself that effortlessly separates him from others. People tend to respect him without ever seeing his abilities or hearing him speak. He possesses a quiet confidence that—despite rarely speaking out of turn—makes him stand out in a crowd. His presence and disposition is often similar to Seneca's, which makes him the favorite subordinate of the lieutenant. When he wants to, Andris can be very charming, but he doesn't make it a point to be particularly social. Sure of himself without the need to brag to others, Andris walks about with an enlightened air. He is a wise man, and always has advice for anyone who actually cares to ask. His understanding of worldly affairs and human nature is practically unparalleled, and he has an remarkable intuition and feel for social interactions. Though not a very active or eager warrior, Andris is also remarkably skilled with his liquefaction, and can localize his power very precisely. Suggested Model: George Clooney |  Gareth Richelieu*
Age 33 | Puppeteering (XY) and Mental Leeching (Z)
Despite his standing as the oldest present lieutenant, Gareth has the impatience of a child. He's impulsive, quick to action, and completely unrestrained. His actions are just as likely to leave people angry and disgusted over his lack of restraint and displays of obscenity. He swears, curses, and says a bunch of things that many would find appalling. He swears that it's unintentional and nothing personal, but everyone seems to take it the wrong way. For Gareth, the world is simply too needlessly complicated and sensitive. Justice is served with the long arm of superior force.
Nevertheless, Gareth actually does care for other's opinions, despite his tendency to trample on them. He simply finds it difficult to restrain himself, and generally lacks self control and moderation. Those that do get him to discuss things civilly discover that he is—in fact—very intelligent and willing to listen to reason. He knows his faults well, probably better than anyone else, but does little to fix them; likely because he know that such an endeavor is sure to fail.

Age 32 | Unbreakable skin (X) + Razor generation (Y) Crude and oafish, Cipriano is loud, obnoxious, and a little too arrogant for his own good. To his credit though, he has developed an extremely efficient way of maneuvering through battle, and has proven to be an incredible asset to his commanding lieutenant, Gareth Richelieu. He's not the most intelligent of individuals, but he has a savvy about him that is hard to duplicate. Despite not being well educated, he simply knows his way around people, and is good at handling them even when he is the one instigating and annoying them. As far as balancing out his lieutenant, Cipriano does very little of that. Instead, he is arguably even more unfettered, unrestrained, and intense than Gareth. He loves to pick a fight, and he's not afraid to get his hands dirty. As a result, his skills with his powers are very advanced, even if he has a relatively unspectacular power set by the Golden Banner standards. Still, Cipriano knows his place, and he strays from conflict that he knows he cannot win, and he rarely chooses to engage with the more illustrious figures of the hegemon. Age 24 | Imperceptibility (XX) and Accelerated Probability (Z) In addition to the intense Cipriano, Gareth also employs the services of a young up and coming figure within the Golden Banner. In fact, it is precisely her unexpected promotion that has proved so divisive within the organizations. Many of the unranked members of the Banner feel that Gareth picked Domino for specious reasons, as she gained the position over more distinguished and experienced members. In fact, in terms of track record, Domino is one of the least decorated figures within the Golden Banner. Because of her youth and inexperience, Domino sometimes doubts herself, especially amongst the intimidating figures within the Golden Banner. She is small, mousy even, and usually keeps to herself. Because of her accelerated probability, Domino doesn't like to engage in activities unless she simulates them first, but she realizes that even her power has limits, especially when some of the more extraordinary figures within the Golden Banner are concerned. Two such figures are Mr. Kingsolver, whom Domino gives a wide berth and plenty of respect, and his nephew, Cosmo Kingsolver, whom Domino is very interested in. Age 29 | Space-Time Manipulation (XY) and Accelerated Probability (Z)
People in the know understand that Leon is the person to go to when bored. He knows how to have a good time. He knows how to engage in conversation, how to make people laugh, how to make people feel better. His ability to lead a party is surpassed only by his ability to relax. His calm and laid-back personality is positively magnetic. Those that speak to him usually find that he is both charming and a little too cool for his own good—so cool that he borders upon uncaring.
His nonchalance is but a mirage. When Leon has a job to do, his focus is undeniable. He has a quiet, steely resolve that both rallies those around him, and makes them question their own self-worth. His skill in battle equally puts them shame. On the field, Leon is a deadly adversary; he always seems several steps ahead of the curve, and his mastery of one of the most powerful abilities in region ensure that he comes out of most any skirmish, regardless of the odds. Leon Chambers is like a modern Muhammad Ali, he can float like a butterfly, sting like a bee, and make it all look good. And when the going gets tough, he can grin and bear it, gritting out a victory despite the odds.

Age 37 | Invisibility (X) + Glaciokinesis (X) Lillia often serves the role of Leon's older sister. She looks after him unquestioningly, and defers to his judgment on most hegemon affairs. Nonetheless, she usually manages to throw her two cents into the discussion, and Leon pays her a lot of attention. She is fair and levelheaded, which her lieutenant appreciates dearly. There is very little tension in their relationship, as both of them know their roles and Lillia is a very willing subordinate. As a late bloomer in the hegemon, Lillia has only recently come into more renown within the group. She recently gained a promotion into the employ of Leon Chambers after the latter's old subordinates perished in the First Nolita Massacre, and accordingly, has only been in Leon's service for about a year. She is a natural at the role though, and the two of them synergize very well. Often, Lillia serves as Leon's nonexistent manipulative streak, as she is willing to do the scheming behind his charm. Age 26 | Invisibility (X) + Glaciokinesis (X) If Lillia acts as the strategic mind, Paola is the physical vessel. She, due to her remarkable acuity with both of her powers, is a very deadly assassin. She uses stealth and the element of surprise to her advantage, and she is, arguably, Leon's most trusted friend within the hegemon. The two have been through a lot together, as she and Leon were the only survivors from the First Nolita Massacre, and as a result, the two are extraordinarily close. Though Leon is the superior, and Paola acknowledges as much, the two frequently act as a partnership. A mysterious introvert, Paola has a fiery temper that usually surfaces when she feels that Leon is somehow slighted within the hegemon. She has a tendency to wear her heart on her sleeve, and will defend her friends from criticism and attacks even when obviously outmatched. For Paola, it is genuinely death before dishonor, and she takes insults very seriously. Subsequently, she doesn't insult anyone unless she is deathly serious, earning her a surly reputation within the hegemon. Suggested Model: Gemma Ward |  Zinnia Almassy*
Age 29 | Illusionism (XX) and Possession (Z)
Zinnia is the quiet one. And that worries everyone. She has the unreadable expression, the cold, distant demeanor, the unfeeling eyes that make others question exactly what she is thinking, and she has a fearsome power set that make most hope that, whatever it is she's pondering, she's friendly. Zinnia is ruled by higher order logic and reason, and likes to think things through. She is one of the preeminent planners on the team, and is a lieutenant as much for her strategic ability as for her skills in the field.
She loathes wasting words, and in her brevity, she commands a good deal of respect. Whenever she says something, most of the others are willing to stop what they're doing and listen. Her biggest flaw, however, is her initiative. She is one of the more upright individuals in the Banner, and while her plans are often brilliant, she lacks the gumption to see them through if she rules into obstacles, particularly those concerning ethics. She can sympathize—though not necessarily empathize—with others out in the ruins, and is slow to take advantage of them. Though far from naive, Zinnia would prefer to see a better, more caring future.

Age 25 | Sound absorption (X) + Power sensing (X) They say that understudies tend to mirror their supervisor, and Hermina seems to be a solid example of this phenomenon. The impressionable orderly takes on a number of traits as her commanding lieutenant. She has the same quiet, calm demeanor about her. Like Zinnia, her racing mind belies any conclusion that she is stupid. Hermina is always thinking, always planning, and she happily shares and bounces ideas off of Zinnia when she can. The two of them share a very productive working relationship. But underneath this surface, Hermina is also a little envious of Zinnia's success and capabilities. She readily admits that her superior has greater abilities than her, both in intellect and in application of powers, and is naturally a little jealous of her superior standing within the hegemon. Though she gets along with her too well to say anything to Zinnia, and her pride prevents her from speaking of it, she would like nothing more than to rise to Zinnia's level of success. Age 28 | Deluminescence (X) + Summoning (Y) With a lieutenant as keen on order and rationality as Zinnia is, it's no surprise that she keeps a human calculator on hand. Byron is quick with his mind, and light on his feet. He's good with words, with numbers, and with people. He has a strong aura about him, with a magnetic personality that attracts people from all ranks of the hegemon. Nonetheless, unless he is externally motivated, Byron regularly falls into lulls of lethargy and ennui. He lacks the ambition to propel himself up the Golden Banner's long ladder. Byron also lacks confidence in his own abilities. He has always second guessed himself, but usually disguises his low self-esteem as self-deprecating humor. His lack of confidence is exacerbated by the often testosterone riddled Golden Banner, where he is surrounded by so many frighteningly talented peers. Age 26 | Duplication (XX) and Shapeshifting (Z)
Beauty is only skin deep. Chandra is, without much argument, one of the most stunning persons any survivor has ever laid eyes upon. Since she's a shapeshifter, it's impossible to note exactly what she would have looked like if she did not change her form, but born from the classiest high class call girl and a debonair businessman, it is likely a good bet that she would have turned out alright. As it is, her physical allure has captivated and captured many male acquantainces before, and she does not hesitate to use her charm to her advantage.
Chandra's powers are both intensely physical, and thus she takes pride in the tactile. She treats most individuals as disposable, because emotions confuse and annoy her deeply. On the other hand, her physical form changes in the heat of battle, and any trace of allure vanishes. Instead, Chandra frequently assumes the form of deadly abominations; she rends, rips, tears, and shreds things with a ferocity and brutality greater than anyone has a right to be. However, whether beauty or beast, Chandra revels in her ability to feel.

Age 30 | Motion freezing (X) + Disintegration (Y) Rhett is one of the Chandra's longest running friends within the hegemon. He was there when Chandra was still a henchmen of Gareth Richelieu, and he fought alongside her after she was promoted to a lieutenant after the Massacres at Nolita. Because of her experience with Chandra, and his ability to keep Chandra grounded, he is treated much more like a peer than a subordinate, and the two of them share a very close relationship. Within the hegemon, Rhett has a reputation for his precision, which borders on superhuman. He's a savvy fighter, who is capable of using a prodigious knowledge of physics along with incredibly accurate use of his powers to maximum effect. Though he knows that his powers do not put him in the Banner's upper echelon, he is a cagey, street wise man who knows how to use his connections and his canniness to benefit him. His exceedingly close relationship with Chandra helps him, as they are casual lovers. Suggested Model: Sean Connery (circa Dr. No) | |  Sylvester London
Age 29 | Teleportation (X) + Corrosion (Y) The ultimate opportunist, people have called Sylvester creepy more times than he cares to count, and he isn't bothered by it at all. He likes playing with a stacked deck, and has very little moral taboos. Sylvester is willing to lie, cheat, and steal his way to what he wants, and he does it very well. His underhanded tactics have earned him a very polarized reputation. Many of his superiors see him as useful and compliant, while many of his peers and colleagues see him as a brown-noser, a cheater, and a shameless flirt. Sylvester is happy to take advantage of Chandra's sexuality and love of attention, as he has managed to earn himself a position within her team by flirting and flattering. His heart, however, is too engrossed with himself to fall for her. He's a narcissistic vacillator, and a very good one at that. To his credit though, he is not a bad guy, as he does not needlessly annoy or harm others, but he is willing to do anything it takes to ensure his own success. Age 24 | Seismic manipulation (XY) + Mediumship (Z) Quinn is Chandra's favorite protégé. While Rhett is often Chandra's equal (or even superior) in their relationship, and Sylvester is too good at pushing her buttons, Chandra feels that he can mold and twist Quinn. His youthfulness and relatively naïveté makes him an excellent candidate for her seductions and manipulations, and he always seems to fall for her hook, line, and sinker. At heart, Quinn is, and always will, be a trusting person; Chandra likes that about him. He trusts and admires Chandra completely, though his image of her is built largely on fantasy. Despite his young age, however, most people view Quinn as a very capable member of the hegemon, as he has a rather prodigious control of his power. His ability surfaced at a young age, and his control over it has only steadily increased since then. Quinn also handles himself exceptionally when under pressure, as he is rarely ever rattled or disturbed. He has a great mindset for competition, as he is able to quickly forget about past victories or losses and focus entirely on the present. Earnest Kingsolver, the leader of the Golden Banner, keeps an elite cabinet of members that he briefs in mostly covert missions. Their loyalty is unquestionable, and they have the skills to back it up. In terms of rank, the personal guard have roughly the same rank—or slightly lower—as the lieutenants. | Hunter-Killer | [insert thumbnail here] Aidan Rybar-Valentini* Age 28 | Power Sensing (X) and Teleportation (X)Aidan serves as the "hunter" of the hunter-killer pair. Together with her husband, Olivier, they serve as two of Mr. Kingsolver's personal guard. In the meantime, Aidan doubles as Earnest Kingsolver's personal secretary and assistant. She's generally quiet, an effective organizer, and a smart planner. She follows her boss's orders unquestioningly, leading some to wonder if her resolve is even human; she is quick to trust those that are close to her. Her powers fit in with her husband's. She seeks while he destroys. | [insert thumbnail here] Olivier Valentini* Age 28 | Feedback (XY&Z)Olivier is another member of Earnest Kingsolver's personal guard. He's the bloodhound of the group in terms of personality, and is usually the one that is quick to spot suspicious characters. He is generally paranoid and unwilling to trust, and usually likes to see people jump through hoops before he can verify their trustworthiness. His feedback powers allows him to remotely target locations and issue negative 'feedback' in the form of a powerful psionic attack. The attack is intensely damaging to all higher-order sentient beings, especially powered foes. Because of his need to target areas, he depends upon Aidan to sense the location and maps it out to him, who can thus issue the feedback. His Z power enables him to remotely launch his feedback (XY) attack. | Endless Loop | [insert thumbnail here] Magdalena Fairburn* Age 22 | Hyperconduction (XX&Z)Magdalena is both a tight-lipped, yet highly conversational individual. She can speak for hours about nothing in particular, but can always find a way to deftly sidestep anything of importance or significance. The skill is not without its drawbacks, as she can often send significant amounts of time with others and they still feel like they barely know her. As a result, it is very difficult for her to form lasting relationships beyond anything superficial. Her saving grace, however, is her staunch loyalty to those that have developed special places in her heart. She has strong bonds, particularly, with her employer, Earnest Kingsolver, and her lover, Nimue Willoughby. Amongst these individuals, she is willing to trust them with anything, even if she is aware of the potential danger that that could represent. To the rest of the hegemon, she is a 'fun' individual, though few of them claim to know her, and just as few readily think about including her in their interaction. Mr. Kingsolver keeps her around for her unique power, which allows her to instantly channel and amplify any power of an individual that she touches, often by extreme amounts. This allows her to use the terrifying scale of powers of anyone that she touches. Of course, this skill also has limitations. It seems not to work on Mr. Kingsolver himself (for reasons unknown), or amongst certain other members of the golden Banner, such as Nimue's inherent power (Psychic Simulation) or Cosmo Grimaldi, perhaps because he has evolved defenses for such a thing. | [insert thumbnail here] Nimue Willoughby* Age 21 | Psychic Simulation (XX)A loud, obnoxious girl, Nimue is frequently the center of attention. She is often selfish, and thinks of solely herself, leading others to doubt her maturity. This is rarely intentional, as she still wants to make others feel good, but her natural proclivities often mean that she forgets to sympathize or empathize with those around her. Though very talkative, Nimue still rarely wastes words. She does not like to talk about nothings, and will usually get into academic arguments with anyone that she finds smart enough to engage in them. Generally an optimist, Nimue takes pride in her ability to make others smile, even if only superficially. She has a rare ability to brighten the mood of those around her, even if she frequently annoys them at the same time. Her talent in interacting with people ensure that she has a lot of friends and admirers, as most people can look past her obnoxious loquaciousness and occasional selfishness for her good humor and wily charms. Her power allows her to simulate the power of other individuals that she can truly empathize with, and thus briefly channel their powers. She can only channel one power at a time, and the effects of these powers are never permanent. Mostly, her power is only marginally useful except when in conjunction with her lover, Magdalena, who can magnify the effect of her power many times through double conduction, allowing for a feedback loop to create massive effects. |
